Ion-Plasma (vacuum) technology

Ion-plasma technology is used for applying film coatings of metals, alloys and their compounds - oxides, nitrides and carbides. This technique uses ion and plasma beams that allow the formation of high-quality reinforced, protective, wear-resistant and decorative coatings on practically any types of surfaces and materials.

Key features

An important feature of these technologies is their high efficiency and low specific power consumption (1 - 5 kWh/m²) in comparison with other methods, e.g. magnetron. Ion-plasma technologies utilise ionic assistance and do not require heating of work surface (working temperature range 30-100°C). It makes possible to apply coatings on plastic parts and thermally treated metals without deterioration of their properties.

The basic types of coatings and their applications:

These technologies are commercially used in the production of:

  • architectural and heat-shielding glasses with up to 70%-reflection in infra-red range
  • high sharpness mirrors with selective factor of reflection (anti-dazzle mirrors for automobiles)
  • decorative coatings

The current equipment can be adapted to specific needs. New equipment can also be designed and developed for special requirements.

Research is now being conducted in the fields of development of new coatings such as sensory, radio engineering, electrographic and other applications.
