Real-Time downhole survey device GUOBIT

The geophysical devices GUOBIT are designed for real time parametric control during directional and horizontal drilling.

The GUOBIT devices allow to control the following parameters:

  • zenith angle
  • magnetic azimuth
  • installation angle of whipstock
  • whipstock azimuth
  • bottomhole temperature
  • lineup control
  • surveillance of natural strata radioactivity

GUOBIT devices contents 2 units - submersive unit and transmitter/receiver.

Submersible unit (downhole part) should be joined directly to geophysical head of hoist cable. Information to transmitter/receiver should be transmitted through a single-conductor logging cable. This cable also used for lowering submersible unit into and lifting it from a borehole. Special docking device with outside diameter from 95 mm to 215 mm is used for its landing in a borehole. Outlet of the borehole cable from in-tube space into hole annuity is carried out by communication line switcher.

Transmitter/receiver can be connected directly to the computer.
Special software - "Drilling control system" - was designed to store information and provide real time grafical reflection of all drilling process parameters on computer monitor.
Compact static converters (accelerometers and flux-gate magnetometers) are used as primary sensors of geomagnetic and gravitational fields. Scintillation detector is used for registration of gamma-radiation.
Drilling orientation devices GUOBIT have a modular structure. It is possible to build a geophysical device with different parameters.

Diameter of the downhole device is 36 mm and 42 mm with the gamma-ray logging unit.
The extraction and replacement of the downhole device is carried out without lifting of the drilling tool. Special equipment and units may be designed and manufactured to meet the customer’s specific requirement.
